Dedicato a tutti gli agricoltori

Giugno 5, 2007 at 7:49 pm | In country, country lifestyle, farmers, musica, video | No Comments

Farmer’s Blues (2003).

“And take to heart the message in the song. Support your LOCAL small farmers! Buy that produce, eggs and meat from someone who matters…not just the mega-grocery.”

E’ un messaggio universale, quindi prendetelo in seria considerazione.

Lyrics

Who’ll buy my wheat, who’ll buy my corn,
To feed my babies when their born?
The seeds and dirt, a prayer for rain, that I can use.

I work the land, I watched the sky,
I talk to God and wonder why,
But it’s the only life I know, these Farmer’s blues.

I see the seasons come and go, sending rain, fire and snow.
I’m at the mercy of it all, this life I choose.

Sometimes I hang my head and cry, when
That evening train goes by,
Wish it could take me far away, these Farmer’s blues.

The tractor’s broke, the fence is down,
Put own my suit and go to town.
And ask for a loan, that I know well, they might refuse.

But back at home, still by my side,
The one I love with worried eyes,
Waits for me, to love away, these Farmer’s blues.

The Singing Brakeman

Aprile 3, 2007 at 10:00 pm | In country, jimmie rodgers, sooy brothers, video | No Comments

Segnalo uno libro stupendo su di loro intitolato “The Sooy Dynasty Of Camden, New Jersey: Victor’s First Family Of Recording“, scritto da Paul Fischer e pubblicato dalla Middle Tennessee State University.

Alcune informazioni sull’opera:

Regia: Basil Smith
Fotografia: Frank Zucker and Chas. Harten
Audio Engineering: Sooy Brothers
Produzione: Columbia Pictures Corporation in associazione con la Victor Talking Machine Company e Western Electric System

Aspect Ratio: 1.37:1
Sound Mix: Mono
Tipo Pellicola: 35mm

Johnny Cash, from Kingsland, Arkansas (1932-2003)
Willie Nelson, from Abbott, Texas (1933 - )
Waylong Jennings, from Littlefield, Texas (1937 -2002)

In ginocchio con il Winchester a leva

Go back in time when country music represented the true America we all knew and loved. When a man’s word was his bond and a women’s honor was something to fight for. The glory days of the American frontier when country music was made by Good Men, Country Men, The Highwaymen.

Hell, yeah!
