Dettaglio della torretta HITFIST Plus montata sul primo VBM “Freccia” di produzione. Si notino le protezioni addizionali, il lanciatore per missili controcarro Rafael Spike e i mortai lanciafumogeni.
La HITFIST Plus e’ una versione rivista e migliorata del modello originale HITFIST, gia’ installato sul veicolo da combattimento per la fanteria Dardo. L’armamento base consiste in un cannoncino Oerlikon KBA da 25mm, con una riserva di 200 colpi, accoppiato ad una mitragliatrice coassiale cal. 7,62.
L’Esercito Italiano vorrebbe acquisire un totale di 249 VBM/VBC, in quattro differenti versioni: 172 combat, 36 combat controcarro, 21 portamortaio (con mortaio da 120mm) e 20 posto di comando.
