1. Think and focus at the operational and strategic level. Understand that there are differences between things that can and should be predicted, and those things that lack predictability (human nature).

2. Be comfortable with being wrong sometimes. Don’t look to be too precise. Infinite vigilance of your counterpart and the enemy is not possible (for that matter, infinite vigilance of yourself is impossible).

3. Win the hearts and minds of the population: the center of gravity! Positive opportunities abound so seize them (take every opportunity to influence the environment; for example through IO).
