I 10 migliori elicotteri di sempre, secondo Discovery Channel. Alcune scelte sono dubbie, ma nel complesso si tratta di una classifica piuttosto realistica. 10 video per i fanatici dei frullatori! Let’s go pholks!

10° posto: Bell 47

Il “Sioux” (come veniva chiamato nell’US Army) non poteva non entrare nella top ten. Pochi altri elicotteri infatti hanno avuto un impatto nell’aviazione civile e militare come questo modello.

9° posto: Focke-Achgelis Fa 223

Il tedesco Focke-Achgelis Fa 223 e’ definito da molti esperti come il primo elicottero ad essere prodotto in serie, benche’ ne vennero costruiti solo 20 esemplari. Vantava ottime prestazioni in velocita’ e tangenza.

8° posto: Westland Lynx

Posizione meritatissima. Il Lynx rimane a tutt’oggi uno dei migliori elicotteri britannici ed europei mai costruiti.

7° posto: CH-47 Chinook

Altra posizione meritata. Non credo che nessun esperto di aviazione abbia mai discusso le qualita’ di questa macchina, in servizio sin dal Vietnam in decine di paesi.

6° posto: Mi-24 Hind

Bellissimo elicottero, innovativo, bene armato e corazzato, ma poco divertente da pilotare, mi dicono. Un asso in ogni caso.

5° posto: OH-6 Cayuse

Personalmente alla quinta posizione ci avrei messo il Mil-Mi 8 “Hip” russo, tuttavia la serie xH-6/5xx della Hughes/MDD/Boeing rimane una delle migliori mai progettate. Le eccellenti qualita’ aeronautiche, unite ad una grande manovrabilita’ e robustezza, hanno reso questi elicotteri molto popolari fra i reparti della Cavalleria dell’Aria e nelle Special Forces.

4° posto: AH-1 Cobra

Entrato in servizio nel 1967, il Cobra e’ stato il primo elicottero d’attacco dedicato della storia. Poteva mancare nella classifica? No way!

3° posto: UH-1 Huey

Il migliore elicottero mai costruito. Doveva meritarsi il primo posto. Carogne! La pagherete cara!

2° posto: UH-60 Black Hawk

Anche qui non c’e’ molto da dire. Uno dei pochi elicotteri degni di rimpiazzare lo Huey.

1° posto: AH-64D Longbow Apache

Come ho scritto poc’anzi: QUESTO POSTO SPETTAVA AL BELL HUEY.

Una delle cose piu’ tristi sono le fuoristrada e i SUV perennemente lucidati a specchio. Quando la mia CJ7, classe 1978, rimane linda per troppo tempo, sembra fissarmi con aria triste come per dire: “hey, a quando la mia razione di fango?”. E ha ragione cazzo. Anche le jeep hanno le loro necessita’.

Gli “occhioni” della CJ7 stanno puntando una distesa di fango. Let’s go!

Brad Paisley, giovane e valente country-rocker, qualche tempo fa scrisse una bella canzone su questo tema, intitolata, neanche a farlo apposta, “Mud on the Tires”, fango sulle ruote. Il video e’ stato girato durante il Muddstock ‘04, un mega festival musicale… letteralmente invaso dal fango! Una sorta di Woodstock Redneck. Check it out!
